1. Commitment to Sustainability

Be In Travel Portugal is strongly committed to conducting its activity responsibly, minimising negative impacts on the environment and local communities, and promoting sustainable practices across all areas of its business. We believe tourism should be a positive force for destinations, contributing to their environmental, social, economic, and cultural value.

We use the Travelife platform as a tool for planning, monitoring, and communicating our performance in terms of sustainability. Our policy is reviewed and updated periodically, and results are publicly reported every two years.

2. Scope of Application

This policy applies to all departments of Be In Travel Portugal, as well as its employees, suppliers, and partners. All are invited to align with the principles described herein, within their budgetary and operational possibilities.

Its implementation is the responsibility of the Sustainability Coordinator, with the support of the Management and the rest of the team.

3. Sustainability Management and Legal Compliance

We are committed to complying with all local, national, and international legislation applicable to the tourism sector, the environment, human rights, and workplace safety.

Be In Travel Portugal follows a Code of Ethics based on principles of integrity, legality, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption, bribery, forced labour, or discrimination.

We maintain a continuous monitoring system of our environmental and social performance. Reports and concerns related to human rights or misconduct may be submitted anonymously through appropriate channels, with guaranteed protection against retaliation.

4. Social Policy and Human Rights

We respect the fundamental rights of all workers, promoting decent working conditions, fair contracts, equal opportunities, and freedom of association.

We ensure ongoing training in relevant areas, including sustainability, health, and workplace safety.

We encourage inclusion and diversity, with active policies to combat all forms of discrimination. We provide a safe, healthy, and motivating work environment.

5. Internal Environmental Management

We comply with environmental legislation and strive to reduce our ecological footprint.

We adopt energy-saving measures, reduce water consumption, and separate waste. We promote the rational use of resources: printing only when necessary, using FSC-certified paper, efficient equipment, and reducing disposable materials. We encourage remote work and the use of sustainable transport.

6. Responsible Purchasing

We prioritise local, certified suppliers with their own sustainability policies.

We select partners who share our principles and expectations, particularly through adherence to a Code of Conduct.

We favour fair trade products, locally produced items, and those with a lower environmental impact.

7. Transport

We prioritise more ecological transport solutions, adapted to group sizes and with lower emissions.

Whenever possible, we choose rail transport, car sharing, or operators who adopt sustainable measures. We collaborate with suppliers who comply with applicable legal and environmental standards.

8. Accommodation, Activities and Guides

We select accommodations that follow sustainability principles and value local identity.

Activities and excursions must respect the customs, cultural integrity, and natural resources of the destinations. Guides and representatives must be aware and trained in sustainability issues, including child protection and appropriate visitor behaviour.

9. Communication and Marketing

All communication from Be In Travel Portugal reflects our principles of truth, inclusion, and transparency.

We do not practice greenwashing. Our sustainability statements are based on real and verifiable actions.

We inform clients about the impact of their travel and encourage responsible choices.

10. Clients and Local Communities

We work to provide positive, safe, and conscious travel experiences.

We ensure high standards of quality and safety in all services provided, with clear policies on health, safety, privacy, and local support. We inform clients about the culture, customs, and realities of the destinations, promoting respectful and engaged attitudes.

Clients are guided in making sustainable choices, from transport to responsible shopping and appropriate behaviour in culturally sensitive contexts. We offer communication and feedback channels to foster continuous improvement of the client experience.

We value our clients’ involvement in responsible practices and ensure their journeys contribute positively to the destinations they visit.

We collaborate with local entities to support the economic and social development of communities, encouraging direct contact with local realities and values.
