Introduction

Be In Travel Portugal recognises that the quality, ethics, and sustainability of the services it provides are directly linked to the way it engages with its suppliers and commercial partners. We believe that a transparent, responsible supply chain committed to sustainable development principles contributes significantly to more balanced, fair, and lasting tourism.

In a context where environmental and social responsibility play an increasingly central role, this policy sets out the guiding principles and criteria for Be In Travel Portugal’s supplier management, establishing clear guidelines for the selection, evaluation, and monitoring of the entities we work with.

Scope of Application

This policy applies to all suppliers, service providers, and commercial partners of Be In Travel Portugal, regardless of their size, location, or area of activity. It covers all acquisitions related to travel, accommodation, transportation, experiences, equipment, technology, administrative and logistical services, or others that may directly or indirectly impact the company’s operations or the customer experience.

The policy also applies to internal teams involved in supplier contracting, evaluation, or relationship management, promoting a coherent, transparent approach aligned with the company’s objectives.

Guiding Principles

Be In Travel Portugal bases its relationships with suppliers on the following fundamental principles:

  • Legality and compliance with all legal, tax, labour, and environmental obligations;
  • Ethical conduct, transparency, and mutual respect in all negotiation processes;
  • Commitment to sustainable practices and reducing the environmental and social impact of activities;
  • Valuing local production and services, whenever compatible with quality and reliability criteria;
  • Rejection of discriminatory practices, forced labour, child exploitation, or any form of labour abuse;
  • Fostering diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities;
  • Promoting a culture of cooperation, trust, and continuous improvement.

Objectives

The main objectives of Be In Travel Portugal’s Supplier Management Policy are to:

  • Establish clear and fair criteria for supplier selection and retention;
  • Ensure coherence between sustainability principles and the company’s commercial practices;
  • Raise supplier awareness of Be In Travel Portugal’s environmental, social, and ethical commitments;
  • Encourage the voluntary adoption of good practices by commercial partners;
  • Contribute to local economic development and strengthen the communities where we operate;
  • Strengthen customer and stakeholder trust in the company’s value chain.

Selection Criteria

Be In Travel Portugal selects suppliers based on objective criteria that balance quality, cost, reliability, and commitment to sustainability principles. Key criteria include:

  • Legal and regulatory compliance;
  • Technical and operational capacity to meet the required standards;
  • Demonstrated sustainable practices or willingness to adopt them progressively;
  • Location and geographic proximity (with priority to local suppliers);
  • Track record of previous collaboration and quality of the commercial relationship;
  • Responsiveness, flexibility, and innovation in services provided.

The absence of formal written contracts or environmental certifications does not, in itself, prevent collaboration, as long as there is transparency and alignment with this policy’s core principles.

Commitment to Sustainability

Be In Travel Portugal favours commercial relationships that promote sustainable development in all its dimensions. We therefore encourage our suppliers to:

  • Adopt measures for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible resource management;
  • Implement fair and safe labour practices;
  • Respect human rights and labour laws;
  • Support social inclusion, gender equality, and workplace diversity;
  • Promote fair trade, local production, and the use of products and services with lower environmental impact.

Implementation and Monitoring

This policy is implemented under the responsibility of the sustainability coordinator, with the support of management and operational teams involved in supplier management. The criteria defined herein must be taken into account in all processes of contracting, renewing, or terminating commercial relationships.

Be In Travel Portugal reserves the right to suspend relationships with suppliers who seriously violate the principles outlined in this policy or who refuse to improve practices clearly harmful to the environment, community, or workers.

We promote a partnership approach, open to dialogue and the sharing of good practices, to ensure mutual and positive development.

Ongoing Evaluation

Suppliers may be periodically evaluated based on their performance, reliability, and alignment with the company’s commitments. This evaluation may include qualitative analyses, feedback from internal teams or clients, and an assessment of progress over time.

The goal is not to penalise, but to build trust-based relationships grounded in transparency and mutual effort towards continuous improvement.

Effective Date

This policy entered into force on 01/06/2024.
